Thunderstorms and flooding might hit components of London and the South East immediately, forecasters warn.
Power cuts are probably and a few communities might be minimize off if roads are disrupted by the climate.
The Met Office has issued an amber warning for thunderstorms for 11am on Wednesday, lasting till 10pm tonight.
It covers a lot of London in addition to West Sussex, East Sussex, Kent and Essex.
The Met Office warned the general public:
- Flooding of properties and companies is probably going and will occur rapidly, with injury to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or sturdy winds
- Fast flowing or deep floodwater is probably going, inflicting hazard to life
- Where flooding or lightning strikes happen, delays and a few cancellations to coach and bus companies are probably
- Spray and sudden flooding could result in tough driving situations and a few street closures
- Some communities are more likely to turn into minimize off if roads flood
- Power cuts are more likely to happen and different companies to some properties and companies might be misplaced
It comes as roads in components of southwest England have been flooded on Tuesday on the second day of heavy rain and thunderstorms.
One of the explanations for the priority is that the heavy rain follows weeks of drought situations – when the bottom is simply too dry, it might’t soak up the rain quick sufficient, so the water runs over the land and floods it.
The Met Office mentioned that Monday marked the eighth consecutive day with the temperature hitting 30C (86F).
