Cyber Attack: There has been news of cyber attack once again from Iran. Here the railway service has been badly disrupted due to the hacking of the government website. Due to which people have to face a lot of trouble.
Cyber attack on Iran: Several websites of the Ministry of Transport and Urbanization were stalled on Saturday due to a “cyber disruption” in the computer system in Iran. Official news agency Irna has given this information. It did not give details of the incident and said that the matter is under investigation (Iran Govt Website Hack). This is the second such incident in the computer system belonging to the ministry. In a cyber attack on Friday, hackers targeted Iran’s rail system.
Following which, various display boards at railway stations across the country were flooded with fake messages about trains being canceled or running late. The country’s Telecom Minister Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi also warned on Saturday about possible cyber attacks. Iran had to face similar attacks in the years 2018 and 2019. On the other hand, talking about the recent attack, hackers were asking people to even call for more information.
Hackers were giving the Supreme Leader’s number
On investigation, it was found that this phone number is from the office of the country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khomeini. Another news website reported that the passengers had to face a lot of trouble due to this. So far no group has claimed responsibility for the cyber attack. A few days before this, the electronic tracking system of Iran’s trains was disrupted. However, it is not yet clear whether the flaw in the system is related to the cyber attack or not.
Error occurred in computer system
At the same time, in the year 2019, there was an error in the computer system of the railway company, due to which the running of many trains was delayed. In December last year, Iran’s Ministry of Communications had said that the country had foiled a major cyber attack, about which more information was not revealed. Along with this, it was also not known whether there was any damage to the computer and internet system in this attack.
