Britain has waived travel restrictions for Indian travelers who have taken both doses of the Corona vaccine.

Britain on Sunday removed India’s name from the ‘Red’ list and put it in the ‘Amber’ list as well as eased travel restrictions for the country. This means that it will no longer be mandatory for Indian travelers who have taken all doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to stay in hotel isolation for 10 days upon arrival in the UK.

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) confirmed that as of 4 am on Sunday, all people coming from India who have been vaccinated in the Amber List, should be sent to their homes or in a mandatory form showing geographical location. Will have to stay in quarantine at the specified place mentioned.

There is some speculation about the inclusion of Covishield, an Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine manufactured by the Serum Institute of India, in the wider spectrum of UK approved vaccines. However, the government has clarified that the India-made version of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine so far approved by the UK’s Drugs and Health Benefits Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is branded VaxGevaria and is currently recognized under exemption rules. This is the only vaccine received.

Under legal regulations for countries on the Amber list of the UK traffic light system, it is necessary for passengers to undergo a COVID test three days prior to departure and two COVID tests to be conducted upon arrival in the UK, with pre-booked as well as on arrival It will be mandatory to fill the passenger geographical location form.

It is mandatory to stay in isolation for 10 days

Upon arrival in England, travelers will be required to remain in isolation for 10 days at home or at the place they have mentioned in the form and will have to undergo a test for COVID-19 on or before the second day and a test on or after the eighth day. The ban on all regularly scheduled international flights will continue. However, under the bilateral agreement between the UK and the Government of India, a limited number of flights will continue to operate between India and the UK.
