Officials in Bangladesh have announced that a nationwide lockdown will be implemented from Monday in view of the Delta variant. During this, offices will remain closed and only activities related to medical services will be allowed. Health officials said that the dangerous delta variant of the coronavirus has spread in the capital Dhaka, which has increased the pressure on health facilities in the country’s capital. An official order said, except for emergency services, all government and private offices will remain closed.
A two-week lockdown has been announced in Australia’s largest city Sydney. People are allowed to come out of their homes only when necessary. Sydney’s new ban applies to its population of 5 million. Delta variant is 40 to 60 percent more infectious than alpha variant
