At least 50 folks have been injured after a flight from Sydney to Auckland suffered a “technical” problem mid-air.
LATAM Airlines stated in an announcement that there was “a technical event during the flight which caused a strong movement”.
Ambulance service Hato Hone St John stated it was alerted to an “incident” at 3.58pm native time and 7 ambulances, two speedy response autos and two main incident assist group autos had been amongst these deployed to the scene.
Around 50 folks had been assessed and handled on the scene, with one particular person in a severe situation and the rest in a average to minor situation.
Around 12 folks had been taken to hospital for remedy, it added.
One passenger stated she skilled a “quick little drop” through the flight, The New Zealand Herald reported.
She stated she noticed “at least” 5 folks being taken away by paramedics who had been ready after the aircraft landed and was happy to have made it safely to New Zealand.
The lady added she was unaware of how severe the incident was for different passengers.

The LA800 flight, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, landed at Auckland Airport as scheduled on Monday afternoon, in response to flight tracker, FlightAware.
The flight usually stops in Auckland on its approach to Santiago in Chile.
The Chilean airline operates common routes between Sydney, Auckland and main centres in South America.
