Afghanistan Pakistan News: The war of words between Pakistan and Afghanistan has intensified. Amidst allegations and counter-allegations and the ongoing violence in Afghanistan, Afghan Vice President Amrullah Saleh has reminded Pakistan of the defeat in the 1971 war. Due to which Pakistan is stunned. Pakistan was defeated by India in this war and a new country named Bangladesh was born. Saleh shared this picture related to the 1971 war through his Twitter account and targeted Pakistan.
He wrote in the caption while tweeting, ‘We have no such picture in our history and never will be. Yes, yesterday I bowed down for a second because a rocket blew up and fell a few meters away (Afghanistan Pakistan 1971 War). Dear Pakistan Twitter attackers, Taliban and terrorism cannot heal the wounds inflicted by this picture. Find other ways.’ Now the reply of Pakistan’s National Security Advisor Moeed Yusuf has come in this matter. This statement on behalf of Pakistan has been termed as stupid.
Moeed Yusuf called the statement ‘stupid’
Moeed Yusuf (Pakistani NSA Moeed Yusuf) on Thursday termed Saleh’s statement as “stupid” without naming him. Also said that Afghanistan is ashamed of such stupid statements of its senior officer. He said that senior Afghan officials deliberately want to spoil bilateral relations with Pakistan. In a series of tweets, Moeed said Afghan officials were trying to disrupt bilateral relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan with their “bitter and misleading statements” to divert attention from their failure.
Pakistan accused of helping Taliban
Earlier, Saleh accused Pakistan of providing aid to the Taliban. He said that the Pakistan Air Force has warned the Afghan security forces that Pakistan will retaliate against them if they try to drive the Taliban out of the Spin Boldak area. Along with this, Saleh said that Pakistan’s Air Force is providing air support to the Taliban. Significantly, as foreign troops are being withdrawn from Afghanistan, in the meantime the conflict between the Taliban and government security forces has intensified. The Taliban has claimed to have captured a large part of the country.
