The situation in Afghanistan is deteriorating rapidly. After the Taliban captured several major cities, the Rashtrapati Bhavan in the capital Kabul has also been captured. Meanwhile, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Vice President Amrullah Saleh have left the country and both are believed to be leaving Afghanistan for Tajikistan. The head of the Afghan National Reconciliation Council, Abdullah Abdullah, has confirmed the departure of the Afghan President. A woman who reached Delhi from Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, expressed her pain. He said, “I can’t believe the world has left Afghanistan, our friends are being killed. They are coming to kill us. Our women will not get any rights now.”

Former President of Afghanistan appeals

Amid the growing influence of the Taliban and the departure of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, former President Hamid Karzai has posted a picture with children and appealed to the Taliban and the Afghan army to protect the people. Afghanistan’s Vice President Amrullah Saleh made an emotional tweet before leaving the country that he would never bow down to Taliban terrorists under any circumstances and would never betray the spirit and legacy of his commander, legend and guide Ahmed Shah Masood.
