More than 450 Indians stranded in Pakistan for nearly 16 months have finally returned home. On Monday, he entered the Indian border from the Wagah border. All these Indian citizens were stranded in different cities of Pakistan due to the closure of the border due to Corona virus. Because of this the citizens of both the countries were trapped. However, since then special arrangements are being made to send Indians and Pakistanis to their respective homes. Among the Indians who returned on Monday, there are also many Kashmiri students. These students were studying professional courses in educational institutions of Pakistan. This process, which started at around 11 am on Monday, continued for almost the entire day.
Will return to their respective homes from Wagah
Arrangements are being made to send these Indian citizens to their respective cities after entering India from the Wagah border. They were sent to India under tight security. The Indian High Commission in Pakistan helped repatriate 405 Indian nationals and 48 NORIs (No Objection to Return to India). Apart from this, arrangements were also made to send back the wives and relatives of NORI visa holders.
What is NORI Visa
NORI Visa is given to those people who are not citizens of India, but the Government of India has given them a Long Term Visa for a long stay. Such visa holders can travel to Pakistan, but they have to return within 60 days. Earlier on January 11 also, 114 Indians had returned to their country.
Pakistan imposes travel ban on 26 countries
Last week, in view of the new variants of Corona, Pakistan imposed travel restrictions on 26 countries including India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives. This ban will continue till June 30. The National Command Operation Center (NCOC) has placed these countries in the C category. Pakistan took this decision in view of the increasing cases of Delta and Delta Plus variants.
