Meta-owned WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow you to hide your last seen status from specific people. According to a report, the beta version of WhatsApp for Android now has an option to hide your last seen status from specific people. The report states that the feature has been in active development for a few months at this point and is now live for a subset of those part of the beta program.
The company may soon make it available to everyone using the beta and then it will eventually be updated to the version of WhatsApp that everyone is using. This feature will not allow WhatsApp users to view the last seen status by everyone, except their contacts, blacklist of specific people of their contacts and no one else.
WhatsApp is also working on a new community feature
Meanwhile, a report states that WhatsApp is also working on a new community feature that will give admins more rights over the group. According to the report, the community feature gives group admins more power over the group. The new feature is expected to offer administrators the ability to invite new users through a community invite link and then send messages to other members. This feature has been seen in the latest beta version version 2.21.21.6 of WhatsApp. The messaging app itself is expected to have a social media-like function similar to that of a Facebook group.
Another feature introduced by WhatsApp
WhatsApp has also rolled out a feature that will allow users to link their accounts to other devices and send and receive messages without having to put the smartphone online. In the recent update of WhatsApp on both Android and iOS versions, this feature is officially for all users. Messages can be received and sent on the linked device up to 14 days after the main smartphone is offline.
