A survey has revealed that video call is also helping people to overcome their loneliness. A report on Tuesday said that 90 percent of the respondents feel that the video call has helped them cope with loneliness in the midst of the epidemic.
A survey conducted by video-conferencing platform Zoom in collaboration with Qualtrix Research also revealed that 50 percent of respondents have used video calls for business purposes. More than half of them (52 percent) appreciated having a choice between virtual and physical meetings, as they felt that hybrid workplaces would save time and provide convenience.
Sameer Raje, general manager and head of India Zoom, said in a statement, India has adopted video call platforms with rapid adjustment. This is not just a change in technology, but also a change in behavioral mindset.
Raje said, as we look forward to a hybrid world, Zoom is ready to address organizations that ensure physical safety and virtual safety of their hybrid employees. We are excited to see the role of the video in the future.
Video calls are being used the most in these areas
Talking of video calls in various sectors in India, the report found that the most common usage is education (72 percent), festivals / social celebrations (62 percent), events (59 percent), entertainment (58 percent), business ( 50 percent) and an area that gained prominence during the epidemic – seen in telehealth (42 percent).
According to the report, more than 90 percent of respondents felt that virtual and remote activities helped them stay connected with others during this period, while 75 percent said that these activities helped improve emotional health . The survey conducted from 15 March to 26 March 2021 included 7,689 respondents from the US, UK, Mexico, Brazil, France, Germany, Japan, India, Singapore and Australia.
