Pili International Multimedia, which produces a television show featuring puppets from its studio in central Taiwan’s Yunlin County, said it wants to use NFTs to source revenue. Its brand director Seika Huang said, “It’s better to understand what’s going on than to sit sideways. It’s the quickest way to move forward.” As Reuters reports, Pili has thousands of characters associated with the puppets. In Taiwan, stories of adventure and romance are told through this art and sometimes martial arts are also included with it. The firm said that digital versions of its four puppet characters have been created and about 30,000 sets of them have been sold as NFTs.
The firm declined to share profit sharing with the market platform but said the price of each set starts at $40. These were listed at the beginning of last month and the firm has garnered around $1.2 million in revenue since then.
Marketing technology company VeVe has been given the responsibility of selling these NFTs. VeVe reports that young people are fond of puppet characters from adventure tales and may also appeal to foreign fans of superhero movies. These include films based on Marvel Comics characters. The people of western countries are really fan of martial arts hero of Taiwan and kung fu. Earlier also people and firms associated with such arts have entered the NFT segment. Some of these NFTs are getting good response.
