This project of James Webb Space Telescope has been started jointly by NASA, European Space Agency and Canadian Space Agency. This telescope was launched on 25 December from Ariane-5 rocket. After being released into space, this telescope slowly began to open itself. Now it is in its final stage. Scientists are controlling this entire process. However, the deployment of telescope equipment has to change many times.
NASA has said it will broadcast live coverage of the last hours of the James Webb Space Telescope’s most important deployment. According to Indian time, it can be seen from 7:30 pm. The live telecast is expected to end at around 12 pm. After this, a press conference will be held by NASA. Both the live telecast and the media briefing can be viewed on NASA’s website.
However, it will take some time for this telescope to be fully operational. Until then, the Hubble Telescope will continue to do its job. Significantly, the James Webb Space Telescope will replace the Hubble Telescope in space. Earlier this week James Webb Telescope fully activated its sunshield. The sunshield will help keep the telescope cool and it will be able to capture images of stars and planets. Many were initially skeptical about the opening of the five layers of the sunshield. Due to its fully active, scientists got great success.
