According to the information, a total of 74 unique photographs of NASA will be sold. These include 26 photographs taken on the Moon during the Apollo missions in the 1960s and 1970s.
Brun Rasmussen was approached by a foreign collector. He wanted to sell the pictures without revealing his identity. He has estimated the collection to be around EUR 190,000 (Rs 1 crore 59 lakh 60 thousand 100). Each photograph is individually ready for sale.
Among them the most valuable photograph is of ‘Earthrise’. It was seen orbiting the Moon on Apollo 8 in December 1968.
American astronaut William Anders. Its value is between EUR 8 and EUR 12,000 (approximately Rs 670 to Rs 1,007,900).
This collection also includes photographs from the Apollo 13 mission. The mission could not land on the Moon due to a fault. Many of the photos being auctioned are coming out for the first time. These pictures were earlier in the archives of NASA. Some of the pictures have appeared on the cover pages of American magazines such as National Geographic and Life. All these photographs show how much man had achieved in the 1960s and 1970s.
Humans last stepped on the Moon in 1972 during the Apollo 17 mission. Now again NASA is planning to send astronauts to the moon in 2025-2026. It will start with the Artemis 1 mission. At present, this mission has been delayed from its scheduled date. NASA had set a target of launching the mission on February 12, 2022, but problems with the Integrated Testing Program have forced NASA to delay the schedule.
