A Bloomberg report states that the donation was taken after an ongoing battle between Tesla CEO and politicians. These politicians included people like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. These people proposed to tax the shares and other assets of billionaires like Elon Musk. Their target was especially the personal property of Elon Musk. These leaders said the rich needed to pay a “fair share” of taxes.
However, it is not clear to whom Elon Musk has donated his shares. However, responding to an article about a United Nations program a month ago, Allen tweeted that he would donate $6 billion if someone could explain how his money would end world hunger.
Earlier in November, Elon Musk asked his followers in a poll on Twitter whether he should sell 10 percent of his stock in Tesla to counter allegations of tax avoidance. To this, about 58 percent of the followers had answered yes. It is estimated that Elon Musk will have to sell about 17 million shares to meet this target. In November, he sold more than 9 million shares.
At the same time, an earlier report said that Tesla will not pay any federal taxes this year because the EV company’s recent financial filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission show that its federal tax bill is nothing. However, Musk said he expects to pay about $11 billion in tax bills to the Internal Revenue Service.
