Redmi Laptop has been launched with many upgraded features
Xiaomi has launched the successor of its Redmi G gaming laptop which was launched last year. Called Redmi G 2021, the new model comes with a few upgrades compared to the previous one, which focuses on better performance. It now comes in upgraded Intel Core processor option and AMD variants.
The new Redmi G also looks the same as before. The design on the back panel looks new but the front looks like a keyboard and a large central trackpad. It has the same 16.1-inch display with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz and a thicker bezel at the bottom. Redmi G 2021 comes in different specifications depending on the processor option you choose.
cost
Redmi G 2021 will start retailing for CNY 5,699 (approximately Rs 64,900) with 11th generation Intel Core i5 processor. This is an upgrade over the 10th generation Intel Core i5 seen in last year’s Redmi G. The price of AMD Ryzen 7 variants has been kept at CNY 6,999 (about Rs 79,700). For now, gaming laptops will only be available in China. The Intel option is already on sale but the AMD variant will start retailing from September 28. Xiaomi is yet to reveal its plans for the global markets.
Features
The new Redmi G gaming laptop comes with a 16.1-inch display that promises up to 144Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the 11th generation Intel Core i5 processor paired with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card, which is another upgrade over the 2020 model. AMD Option comes with AMD Ryzen 7 processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 graphics.
Both Intel and AMD options come with 16GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. The laptop runs on Windows 10, which once available will be upgradeable to Windows 11. Connectivity options on the laptop include Wi-Fi 6, Thunderbolt 4 and USB Type-C for charging. Redmi G 2021 also comes with three level backlit keyboard, DTS:X Ultra 3D surround sound and Xiao AI digital assistant.
