It was the biggest opening for IMAX since Avengers: Endgame in April 2019. Apart from India, the film also made the best opening for IMAX in Italy, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Warner Bros has released The Matrix Resurrections in some countries in the past week. The new Matrix movie has grossed $90.2 million (approximately Rs 70 crore) in Russia, Japan, Thailand as well as four more regions. Of these, the film earned $30.9 million (approximately Rs 29 crore) in Russia and Japan alone, while it earned $7.94 million (approximately Rs 6 crore) in Thailand. It proved to be the third biggest opening of the year 2021 in the country. The Matrix Resurrections is going to release in 71 more countries this week, in which it is being released in India and America on 22 December. It is also releasing on HBO Max on the first day in the US.
