In the month of October itself, Bharti Airtel lost 4.89 lakh subscribers while Vodafone Idea lost 9.64 lakh subscribers. Bharti Airtel, the second largest telecom operator, lost 4.89 lakh users in October and its subscriber base fell to 35.39 million. Earlier, Airtel had added 2.74 lakh mobile users in the month of September.
According to the latest TRAI data, the mobile subscriber base of Reliance Jio increased to 42.65 million in October. Whereas in September its 19 million users were reduced. Vodafone Idea was dropped by 9.64 lakh mobile customers in October, leaving the company’s subscriber base at 26.90 million. Earlier in the month of September also, 10.77 lakh customers of the company were reduced.
The total number of telephone users in India increased to 118.96 million by the end of October 2021, registering a monthly growth of 0.04 percent. According to TRAI, at the end of October 2021, there was a decrease in the urban subscribers of the telephone and it came down to 65.88 million. While the number of rural subscribers increased to 53.07 crore in the same month. The total broadband subscriber base increased to 79.8 crore by the end of October 2021.
According to the report, the top 5 wireless broadband service providers as of 31 October 2021 were – Reliance Jio Infocomm (426 million users), Bharti Airtel (204 million users), Vodafone Idea (122 million users), BSNL (190 million users) and Tikona Infinet ( 3 lakh users).
The number of subscribers shows that the nearest rival of Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, has almost half of the subscribers of Reliance Jio. That is, the hold of Reliance Jio is much stronger in terms of mobile phone subscribers, for which no one else is visible far and wide.
