order alcohol online
The Delhi government has finally allowed home delivery of liquor and orders can be placed through mobile apps and websites. Under the amended excise rules, those holding an L-13 license are allowed to deliver both Indian and foreign liquor to their homes for orders received through the app or online.
Although this is good news, but this time how it will work and how people will be able to get the delivery of liquor, at the moment not much has been told about it properly. No announcement has been made so far about which app and which online portal is going to take these orders of liquor for Delhi, nor has any app company made any announcement yet.
However, seeing how home delivery of liquor has worked in other states, the delivery of liquor can be done in a similar fashion here in Delhi as well.
Who can deliver liquor to your doorstep?
States like Maharashtra, Kolkata, Odisha, West Bengal etc. allowed online liquor delivery through platforms like Amazon, Swiggy, Zomato, and BigBasket. In such a situation, something similar can be given for Delhi as well. However, only eligible license holders are allowed to make these deliveries.
Kerala launched BevQ, a dedicated liquor app for people to buy alcohol while ensuring social distancing. The app was downloaded more than one lakh times in a few hours of its launch in May last year. Although this time there is no need to buy tokens to take liquor from shops, but still we may need a permit.
