Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad have informed the Lok Sabha in a written reply on Wednesday that the government is considering a proposal to link the voter list with Aadhaar. With this, the enrollment of a person in different places will also be eliminated.
In this reply, it has been said that in recent times, the data of the voter list does not come in the Aadhaar data and it is used only for confirmation. In this case, linking these two will help prevent the voter system from being hacked.
Explain that the Election Commission had proposed to link the Aadhaar card with the voter list, so that the voter list can be prepared properly. After this, the latest information was now sought from the government in Parliament on the proposal of the Election Commission. Responding to this, the government has said that in order to implement the proposal of the Election Commission, some laws related to the voter list will have to be changed and it is being considered now.
The government has said that the Election Commission has taken several steps to keep the voter list safe and accurate. There has been a demand from the Election Commission for a long time to change the law from the Central Government. The Commission says that for those who apply for a voter ID card, it should be made mandatory to provide Aadhaar information.
Please tell that the Election Commission sent this proposal to the government in August 2019. The Election Commission says that linking of Aadhaar and voter ID cards together will end a lot of problems.
