5g And Covid 19
Dangerous coronavirus continues to wreak havoc across the country, while 5G technology has been blamed in viral messages on social media. Recently, the Chief Secretary of Haryana has issued an order to protect the basic telecom structure and other related assets in the districts and take strict and immediate action against any crook who spread misleading rumors about 5G Technology. The notice issued states that the claims of connecting 5G technology with the Corona virus are baseless as 5G telecom networks have not been established in the country yet. Not only this, the telecom operators have not even started testing for the 5G network.
Earlier, COAI, the platform of the region’s mobile telecom service providers, wrote to the Ministry of Information and Technology seeking to remove fake and misleading social media messages citing 5G technology as the cause of the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic. COAI members include companies like Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea.
