The purpose of this mission is to find traces of life on Mars. But this will be possible only when these samples are analyzed in laboratories on Earth. These samples will be collected and launched back to Earth under a complex operation. Lockheed Martin’s rocket will play a major role in this.
According to NASA, the potential value of the contract for making the rocket is $ 194 million (about Rs 1451 crore). Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator for science at NASA’s headquarters, said that after being brought to Earth, those samples could be studied with better tools.
NASA plans to start a mission soon to send a mini-rocket to Mars in the year 2026. This rocket will have another rover, which will work to collect samples of perseverance.
When the samples are placed in the rocket, then the rocket will take off and place them in the orbit of Mars. Another ship will assist in bringing them to earth. In this way the samples will be brought to earth. The European Space Agency is getting this ship ready.
Under one such important project, NASA plans to crash the International Space Station (ISS).
The International Space Station is of great importance for space travelers. It is also called the home of astronauts. It is entering the last decade of its operational life. NASA plans to ‘deorbit’ the ISS and crash into the Pacific Ocean in January 2031. Before this, she is planning to open it for commercial activities.
