LG Electronics on Sunday said that they have launched an 83-inch OLED TV. The South Korean tech giant is trying to make its presence felt in the premium TV market. LG is the first TV manufacturer to release an OLED TV with an 83-inch size display. The 83 C1 TV is also the largest OLED TV in the industry with 4K resolution.
LG’s 83-inch OLED TV, the 83 C1, will be available first this month in South Korea and the United States. In South Korea, its price has been set at $9,630 (approximately 7.14 lakh).

According to LG, the 83 C1 comes with advanced features including 4K High Frame technology, which gives a better viewing experience while playing games and watching sports.
It was one of the recipients of the Innovation Award at the Consumer Electronics Show 2021, claiming accolades in the gaming and video display categories, Yonhap news agency reported. LG, the world’s leading OLED TV maker, expects its 83-inch TV to fuel big premium TV sales amid the pandemic-induced stay-at-home trend.
LG OLED TV shipments increased in the first quarter of 2021
According to market researcher Omdia, LG’s OLED TV shipments grew 116 percent to 792,000 units in the first three months of 2021, its best performance for the first quarter. Omdia had earlier predicted that the global OLED TV market would reach 5.8 million units this year, up from 3.65 million units last year. It also expects OLED TVs to represent 10 percent of the global TV market this year in terms of revenue.
