In December 2020, Reliance had announced that Jio 5G services would start by the middle of 2021, now the company’s upcoming AGM 2021 is expected to have all the major launches.

Reliance Jio may launch an affordable JioPhone 5G smartphone later this month. The date of Reliance’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2021 has been officially announced. Reliance Industries will host the 44th AGM later this month on June 24 at 2 pm.
Some of the biggest announcements expected from the AGM this year include Jio-Google 5G smartphones, Jio laptops, Jio 5G rollout timeline, and other announcements around 5G related services by the telco. As usual, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani is expected to address the holders and others at AGM 2021. The online event, Reliance is expected to stream on YouTube as well as social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
JioPhone 5G, JioBook launch details
In the annual meeting, Ambani is expected to announce the launch date/rollout date of Jio 5G. Let us tell you that in December 2020, the company announced that Jio 5G services will start by mid-2021, which will be exactly when the telco will host Reliance AGM 2021. Reliance Jio has already achieved speeds of more than 1Gbps in its 5G testing.
One of the biggest announcements at AGM 2021 will be a 5G smartphone designed by Jio and Google together. Google CEO Sundar Pichai recently revealed in an interview with the media that the tech giant is actively working with Reliance Jio to develop affordable 5G smartphones. The Jio-Google 5G smartphone was first announced at the Reliance AGM 2020.
JioBook will also be launched
It is expected that Reliance will also launch an affordable laptop at its AGM this year. This affordable laptop is being called JioBook. Earlier this year, some details related to the JioBook low cost laptop had surfaced online. The JioBook is expected to run on a custom Android version and be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset.
Rest of the features that are tipped to be included in JioBook include 1366×768 resolution, 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. It is likely that there will be two variants of JioBook – one with 2GB RAM and the other with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
