Apple’s new iPhone lineup has been in the news long before its launch and now that they have been introduced, experts are testing their capabilities. One such test checks the strength of the new iPhone as claimed by Apple. In this test, the iPhone 13 series devices were dropped from different heights to check if they were safe.
Recently, the drop test has been done on the Pro model of the new iPhone i.e. iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. As part of testing, the device was dropped from different heights, making it something where the user can drop their iPhone with their hands or a tabletop. The new iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are 14 grams and 10 grams heavier respectively than their iPhone 12 series. The device still has Apple’s ceramic shield on top which claims to have the strongest glass protection on a smartphone. Cameras are more prominent than ever.
The drop test of the new iPhone series shows some interesting results. Testing begins with the new iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max which are first dropped from waist height on a concrete floor. The iPhone is dropped at different points – edge, back and front. Both the iPhones survive this height without any scratches at all three points.

Next, the iPhone is dropped from a person’s height, such that the person on the phone drops them in the middle of a call. Both the devices survive a fall of about 6 feet with one or two small dents on the side and back. The iPhone 13 Pro, however, breaks from the front when dropped from a height. At the same time, there was no scratch on the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

After this both the phones are dropped from a height of 10 feet. Meanwhile, the iPhone 13 Pro, which was already broken from the front, gets shattered from the back as well. Whereas the iPhone 13 Pro Max was still in good shape without any dents or damage until it was thrown from 10-feet above its front. After this the display of 13 Pro Max was broken.
However, even after all these downfalls, both the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max worked. The video testifies to Apple’s claims on the ceramic shield as well as the sturdiness of the new iPhones.
Note: We recommend that you do not test this on your iPhone unit and protect it with a cover and screen guard.
