Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had tweeted about technical issues on the new e-filing website of the Income Tax Department and tagged Infosys Company and Nandan Nilekani in it. Now IT company Infosys has said that they expect the system to be stable in this week.
Sitharaman on Tuesday asked Infosys and its chairman Nandan Nilekani to fix the technical issues being faced in the new e-filing website of the Income Tax Department. Users had put complaints on their Twitter timeline.
Infosys got the contract in the year 2019
Infosys said in a tweet on Wednesday that their team is moving forward to resolve technical issues. They expect the system to stabilize during this week. Infosys was awarded the contract in 2019 to develop the Next Generation Income Tax Filing System, which will help reduce the processing time for returns from 63 days to one day and get refunds faster. The portal went live on Monday evening.
When Sitharaman announced the launch of the new portal on her Twitter account on Tuesday morning, her timeline was flooded with complaints from users. She said that she is seeing complaints and lapses in her timeline. Hope Infosys and Nandan Nilekani will not disappoint our taxpayers in terms of quality of service. In response to this tweet, Nilekani said that some technical issues have come to the fore on the first day and Infosys is working to resolve them.
