Beware of digital fraud
Digital fraud has increased tremendously in India. Many users keep their personal information like bank debit card, credit card, ATM PIN, Aadhar and PAN card saved in their phone or email.
In this era of online fraud, people have started taking bank accounts quite seriously. But despite so many accidents, even today users keep information about debit card, credit card, ATM PIN, Aadhar card, PAN number and other passwords in their phones. Personal and private information is very important, but despite this, people ignore it.
People’s accounts are attacked in many ways, including phishing and other tricks. With the help of this, anyone can leak the complete information of your account and can harm you. Recently, a survey was conducted by the social media platform LocalCircles in which it was revealed that, many users do not follow security practices and keep their personal information in an insecure way.
Shocking revelation in the survey
The opinion of 24,000 people was taken in the survey, which included 393 districts of the country. In this 63 percent were men and 27 percent were women. 29 percent of the people told in this survey that they have shared their debit card, credit card and ATM PIN with one or more family members. At the same time 4 percent people gave it to domestic staff but only 65 percent were those who did not share their personal information with anyone.
In this survey, users were also asked how they keep information about their debit, credit card, ATM PIN and CVV number. In such a situation, 21 percent of the 8260 people said that they had remembered their PIN, while 39 percent said that they had written their password on paper or stored it somewhere.
While 33 percent said that, they stored their information in the form of data in their phones, emails and computers. So there were only 11 percent of the users who said that they keep their data on the phone’s contact list.
It has been told in the survey that the Reserve Bank of India and other banks should pay attention to this and give information about digital literacy among the people. This will benefit people that they will know about how to keep their personal information safe. At the same time, users should use a secure secret storage service like Bitwarden Password Manager here, with the help of which they can keep ATM PIN, Aadhaar and PAN number safe.
