Payment is done in one phone call
- Call 08045163666 from your phone.
- Select your preferred language once the call is started.
- Press ‘1’ to transfer money.
- Select your bank by following the IVR instructions.
- Press ‘1’ once again to continue with the payment using your phone number.
- Enter your phone number.
- Confirm your phone number by pressing the specified ‘key’.
- Type the amount you want to send.
- Enter your UPI PIN to complete the transaction.
The method we have told you is to make UPI payment by calling the IVR (Interactive Voice Response) number. It does not require internet connection. Apart from this, the transaction can be done in three more ways. You can make digital payments through the functionality of the app in your feature phone, through missed calls and through proximity sound-based payments.
The big advantage of this system is that even feature phone users can now make payments to their friends and family. Can pay bills. You can recharge your car’s fastag. Mobile bills can be paid. Account balance can be tracked as well as UPI PIN can be set and changed.
With the introduction of this system, a 24×7 helpline for digital payments has also been started, which has been setup by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). This helpline named ‘DigiSathi’ will answer the queries of the users through the website and chatbot and help them in digital payments.
What is UPI?
UPI is a platform developed by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) in association with Reserve Bank of India and Indian Banks Association. In this, users have a unique UPI ID, using which payments can be made and received. It was started in 2016. Today it has become one of the top payment options. The UPI platform registered 4.52 billion transactions worth Rs 8.26 lakh crore in February last month.
