Zomato, Swiggy Down: Food delivery apps Zomato and Swiggy were down on Wednesday across the country due to a technical issue. Both companies have confirmed this on Twitter. Due to this, today users in many big cities of the country faced problems in ordering food during lunch time. The customer support handles of Zomato and Swiggy have responded to the complaints on Twitter saying that they are facing technical glitches, due to which the customers are facing problems. Both companies say that they are working on it and it will be fixed soon.

Zomato and Swiggy gave information on Twitter
Zomato said on Twitter, “We are facing a temporary glitch. Our team is working on it and it will start working soon.” Similarly, Swiggy also replied to a user saying “We are currently unable to process your request as we are facing technical issues. There is nothing to worry about. We are working on it and it will be fixed soon.”

Emerging food delivery apps are Zomato and Swiggy
Zomato and Swiggy are the fastest growing food delivery apps in the country. Together, the two companies hold up to 95 percent of the country’s food delivery market. In the financial year ended 31 March 2022, Zomato has recorded a total gross order value of Rs 9500 crore. During this period, the company has added 32 million average monthly active users, about 4 lakh active restaurant partners and 1.7 lakh active delivery partners. Last month, Zomato’s founder Deepinder Goyal said that the company will soon start 10 minute instant food delivery, however, Goyal also said that the company will not pressurize its delivery partners for fast food delivery.
