Popular celebrities and some Facebook groups in the US will be able to create live audio rooms using iOS. The company has made it to compete with the clubhouse.
Facebook Audio Rooms
Facebook on Monday launched podcasts and audio streams in the US. The company has launched these services to keep users more and more engaged on its platform. Here the company is planning to compete with other platforms as well. Facebook has said that it is allowing public figures to start live audio rooms with the help of verified accounts. During this time any other user can join it. Let us tell you that this feature is exactly like Clubhouse. In such a situation, the clubhouse is going to get a tough competition from this.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who has already been on audio streaming app Clubhouse, launched his own live audio room on a Facebook page last week. The Live Audio Rooms and Podcasts are being rolled out in the US. In such a situation, the company has started its audio journey. Facebook app head Fidji Simo said in a blog post on Monday that he is working with creators who will use the company’s audio tools to launch Soundbytes. These will be short form creative audio clips.

But podcasts and live audio have also been an outlet for racism, misinformation and extremist content. Live audio is particularly difficult to moderate compared to traditional social media posts. Facebook, which announced its plans to join audio streams in April, says its rules apply to live audio and podcasts and that anyone can report objectionable content.
The company said in a statement that, “In addition, our comprehensive integrity and safety functions and the tools we have built to consistently and automatically identify harmful materials are great building blocks, but we continue to optimize techniques and processes. We plan to do so as we learn more,” the company said in a prepared statement.
