Paytm said on Monday that its users will be able to book appointments for vaccination apart from finding available slots on the app. Paytm said in a statement that Paytm users can now search and book vaccination slots for both Covaccine and Covishield at their nearest centers through the Paytm app. The company said that this service will help Indians to book vaccination slots without any interruption and gain immunity and fight against the current pandemic.
Many companies had launched the feature to find slots
Covin’s head RS Sharma recently said that dozens of entities, including big digital companies such as Paytm, MakeMyTrip and Infosys, are trying to get approval to offer vaccine bookings. The government last month issued new guidelines for integration with third-party applications of Covin, making the way easier for apps. Earlier, from big companies like Facebook and Google to startups like HealthifyMe, some tools were launched with the help of which slots can be found for vaccination appointments.
Platforms such as Under45 and GetJab became increasingly popular as they send alerts to users on the opening of vaccine slots and then take them to the Kovin platform to book an appointment.
Paytm also launched the Vaccine Finder feature on the app in May, which helps users find leads for vaccine bookings, including information such as the type of vaccine available and the fees charged for the same. Paytm spokesperson said that it is their effort that India comes out of the epidemic by becoming stronger. Their Vaccine Finder will help citizens book slots and get vaccinated at nearby centers.
