Cabinet has approved 4G technology in Railways. Announcing this in the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said, “In order to make railway traffic more secure, more allocation of 4G spectrum has been made to the railways. Till now railways used to use 2G spectrum. This will increase their security. This will also affect communication and signal. This will also strengthen the system of automatic security in the Railways.
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said, Rs 25,000 crore will be spent in the next 5 years on signal modernization and 5G spectrum implementation in Railways. Railways will be provided 5 MHz spectrum in the 700 MHz band. It will improve its communication system and make rail travel safer. Railways currently uses optical fiber. The availability of spectrum will lead to radio communication.

He also said that the system of automatic train protection is now being strengthened a lot in the railways. Four Indian companies have made the system that has been made so that there is no collision of two vehicles.
