Airlines said in a statement that 5G networks deployed around runways affect the safety equipment that pilots use to take off and land in bad weather.
Airlines have said that we will not compromise on security. The governments of other countries have successfully developed policies to ensure the safe deployment of 5G technology. We are asking the US government to do the same. Otherwise, the radio altimeters on some aircraft will be affected. With the help of radio altimeters, the pilot gets the necessary information related to the safety of the aircraft. Airlines say that if radio altimeters are affected, cities such as Houston, Newark, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago will have to ban aircraft.
Due to this there will be hundreds of thousands of flight cancellations throughout the year. They will have problems. Cargo flights in these areas will also be affected. Airlines have urged the Biden administration to act quickly and implement other measures.
It is worth noting that two days ago, American airlines had given their warning in this matter. Executives of other companies including American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Southwest Airlines wrote in a letter that until our main centers are cleared to fly, flights will not be able to start. It was written in the letter that more than 1100 flights may have to be cancelled, diverted or delayed in a day. Due to this, about one lakh passengers will be affected. Remember that 5G service has started in America. AT&T and Verizon have launched 5G service in the US, which was previously held two-three times.
