Under ITEP, dual degree of Bachelor will be awarded to the students.
4-Year B.Ed. Programme: The central government has notified a four-year Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP). The notification related to this has been issued yesterday on Wednesday, October 28 only. This program has been fixed as the minimum degree qualification to become a teacher in the school under the new education policy and this rule will be effective from the year 2030. Under this program notified by the government, a four-year undergraduate program will be started in 50 institutions across the country from the next academic year. Under the National Education Policy 2020, it has been decided that from the year 2030, school teachers will be selected only through ITEP. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Education, first this course will be taught in 50 multidisciplinary institutions located across the country.

Students will be selected through NTA test
The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) under the Ministry of Education has also prepared the syllabus for this course. The ITEP of four years will be available to all those students who want to take up the teaching profession after completing their studies. Admission to this course will be given through a test. National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) for this.
One year’s savings
Under ITEP dual degree of Bachelor will be awarded. Under this, along with Basic BA and BSc degree, B.Ed degree will also be provided. This will save one year for the students. Apart from this program, it takes five years to do B.Ed after Bachelor’s degree i.e. BA or B.Sc, but under Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP), students’ basic graduation degree and B.Ed will be completed in four years.
