In the first match, India beat South Africa (IND U-19 vs SA U-19) by 45 runs. After this match, there was a corona infection in the Indian team, 5 players including team captain Yash Dhul, (Yash Dhull Captain U-19 Team India) were out of the group stage.
Despite the absence of the captain and these players, the performance of India’s team was lively. Then India beat Ireland (IRE U-19 vs IND U-19) by 174 runs, followed by Uganda (UGA U-19 vs IND U-19) by 326 runs. And after that, in the quarter-finals of the tournament, India’s team defeated the last season’s champion Bangladesh team (BAN U-19 vs IND U-19) by 5 wickets.

Superstar of the match against South Africa
Vicky Ostwal played an important role in India’s victory by taking 5 wickets in the match played against South Africa. He was adjudged the ‘Player of the Match’. Indian team captain Yash Dhull (Captain U-19 Team India) played the best innings of 82 runs in this match.
Against Ireland (IRE U-19 vs IND U-19) Harnoor Singh was adjudged the Player of the Match. In that match, 88 runs came off his bat. Angkrish Raghuvanshi also batted brilliantly, and scored 79 runs. In the bowling, Kaushal Tambe, Anishwar Gautam and Garv Sangwan took 2-2 wickets.
Against Uganda (UGA U-19 vs IND U-19) Raj Bawa played a huge and record breaking innings of 162 runs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi batted tremendously in the second consecutive match and scored 144 runs. In this match, Nishant Sindhu, captaining India, dropped 4 wickets.
Ravi Kumar was the ‘Player of the Match’ in the quarter-finals against Bangladesh (BAN U-19 vs IND U-19 Quarter Final ICC World Cup, 2022). Ravi Kumar conceded just 14 runs in 7 overs and took 3 wickets. Angkrish Raghuvanshi played a good 44 runs in this match as well.
