Kolkata. Off-spinner Washington Sundar was on Monday ruled out of the three-match T20I series against the West Indies due to a hamstring strain. Washington recently made a successful comeback from injury during the three-match ODI series against the West Indies and is looking to continue his good run in the T20I series starting here on Wednesday.
Washington suffered a strain in his left leg while fielding during the third ODI at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The All India Senior Selection Committee has included Kuldeep Yadav in the team as his replacement.
Jay Shah, Secretary, Cricket Board of India said in a release, “Washington suffered a strain in his left leg while fielding during the third ODI at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday. He has been ruled out of the three-match T20 International series to be held in Kolkata from February 16. “The All India Selection Committee has included Kuldeep Yadav in the team as a replacement for Washington,” he said.
