New Delhi. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed a three-member committee to probe the alleged threat received by a senior journalist to Wriddhiman Saha for not giving an interview. Saha initially refused to reveal the name of the journalist but shared several tweets on February 23. It is learned that now he is ready to reveal the name of this journalist and he has also given his consent for the investigation.
“The Cricket Board of India has today constituted a three-member committee to look into the matter of threats and intimidation of Wriddhiman Saha by a senior journalist,” the BCCI said in a release.
It said, “The three-member committee comprises BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla, BCCI Treasurer Arun Singh Dhumal and BCCI Apex Council member Prabhtej Singh Bhatia. The committee will start action from next week at the earliest.”

The BCCI said that, “A centrally contracted cricketer was allegedly threatened for not responding to a message asked for an interview by a journalist.”
Taking cognizance of the matter, the BCCI got in touch with Saha and decided to constitute a three-member committee to look into the matter.
The journalist’s tone was intimidating in the message sent by the journalist, “You didn’t call. I will never interview you. I don’t take insults easily. And I’ll remember it. Saha, who has played forty Tests, has already been told by the Indian team management that he will not play for India again. (agency)
