Ali’s real name was Cassius Marcellus Clay, but on 6 March 1964, Cassius Clay, influenced by the American Muslim religious organization ‘Nation of Islam’ and their leader Malcolm X, proclaimed himself ‘Muhammad Ali’. Just as he decided to embrace Islam, he had to face many critics. Many people in the United States were outraged by his decision. Those who had nothing to do with boxing also criticized Ali a lot. The World Boxing Association has also taken back his heavyweight champion crown from Muhammad Ali. The reason for which was said to be technical. He signed a contract with Liston to play a return title bout, which went against World Boxing Association rules. When the dictator attacked Kuwait in the year 1990, more than 2000 foreigners were taken hostage. Then Muhammad Ali reached Baghdad to negotiate with Saddam to free the hostages. After 50 minutes of talks with Ali, Saddam released 15 American hostages.
Refused to go to Vietnam War, was banned
Muhammad Ali also refused to be part of the US military for the 1967 US and Vietnam War. After which all of Ali’s World Championship titles were taken away and he was banned from boxing. In 1971, on his appeal, the US Supreme Court lifted this ban. Ali had to lose 4 years of his career because of the ban. Because of his decision, he had to face a huge cost and opponents.

In the year 2016, on June 3, the great boxer Mohammad Ali said goodbye to the world. He was admitted to a US hospital on June 2 due to respiratory problems, where Ali left his life at the age of 74.
