Tampa Bay Rays star Wander Franco was placed Tuesday on administrative leave “until further notice” as officers examine an accusation towards him involving a relationship with a minor, Major League Baseball introduced.
The transfer extends an absence from the Rays for the 22-year-old shortstop, who spent the previous week on the league’s restricted record.
Under administrative depart, Franco is faraway from the Rays roster however will proceed to be paid and accrue service time, in response to an settlement between MLB and the gamers affiliation.
