In the ICC Women’s World Cup, 2022, today on 7 March, there was a clash between New Zealand and Bangladesh (NZW vs BANW). This was the second match of both the countries in this latest World Cup. New Zealand registered their first win in this World Cup by defeating Bangladesh. And, Bangladesh has lost in this tournament for the second consecutive encounter. Suzie Bates was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ ICC Women’s World Cup, 2022.
New Zealand won the toss
New Zealand women’s cricket team captain Sophie Devine won the toss and elected to bowl first. Bangladesh entered the field after receiving the invitation to bat first. Bangladesh started off with a bang. Shamima Sultana (33 runs) and Farzana Hoque (52 runs) shared 59 runs for the first wicket. But, after this no other Bangladesh batter could perform well. Amy Sattherwaite took the maximum 3 wickets. Sammy gave 25 runs in the bowling of 5 overs.

New Zealand beat Bangladesh by 9 wickets. Batting first, Bangladesh had set a target of 141 runs for New Zealand to win. New Zealand captain Sophie Devine returned to the pavilion after scoring 14 runs. But, after this Amelia Kerr and Suzie Bates together gave New Zealand victory. Amelia scored 47 runs and Suzie Bates came off the bat with 79 runs. Suzy was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ (Player of the Match BANW vs NZW ICC Women’s World Cup, 2022) for her excellent performance.
