“It is always difficult after a start like this but we have to look at the positives. We are playing good cricket but we just can’t finish the match. We had a chance in all three matches but we could not finish the match.
Jayawardene said, “It is a matter of concern, especially with the ball, we are not able to perform as expected in the last overs and under pressure. We failed to implement the plans so we have to make sure that we rectify it.”
Pat Cummins, one of the world’s best fast bowlers in the current era, equaled the record for the fastest half-century with an unbeaten 56 off 15 balls to give Knight Riders an easy five-wicket win over Mumbai here on Wednesday. Jayawardene believes that the Mumbai bowlers’ strategy was wrong while bowling to Cummins.
