    MONDAY’S HIGHLIGHTS

    BASEBALL

    Luke Leger (9 strikeouts) was a workhorse from the mound, pitching all 9 innings of a Dual County League thriller that noticed Newton South edge Concord Carlisle, 2-1, on Jackson Harrild’s (2-for-4, homer) stealing of house.

    Karah Devan and Madigan Kelley every tallied six objectives for Monomoy in a 17-12 win over nonleague opponent Bourne.

    Sophomore Caroline Burtch completed with a hat trick and added 5 draw controls, serving to to information Norwell (7-2) to a 15-0 shutout of South Shore League opponent East Bridgewater.

    Nayara Burato’s lone objective proved the winner, capping off Emma Finch’s hat trick to assist Greater Lowell edge Lowell Catholic 5-4 in a Commonwealth Athletic Conference bout.

    Every offensive contribution mattered for Lowell in a 14-13 Merrimack Valley Conference win over Dracut, and Sylvia Lally (3-4, 5 RBI), Alanna Carbonneau (2-for-4, two RBI, three runs) and Abby Grenier (3-for-4, RBI, two runs) all delivered.
