Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar and Australian spinner Shane Warne are among the greatest players of all time. Sachin holds almost every batting record in Tests and ODIs. He scored 15,291 runs in 200 Test matches at an average of 53.78 with 51 hundreds, including his top score of 241 not out. Whereas in 463 ODIs he scored 18,426 runs at an average of 44.83 with 49 centuries, including a top score of 200 not out. At the same time, leg-spinner Shane Warne has taken 708 Test wickets in 145 matches. Apart from this, he has also taken 293 wickets in 194 ODIs.

Border-Gavaskar Trophy 1998, Chennai
On 1 March 1998 in Chennai, India and Australia faced each other in the first Test of the series for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Batting first, India were reduced to 257 runs. In which Sachin was dismissed by Warne for just four runs. Australia then batted and scored 328 runs taking an easy lead of 71 runs. Where Australia was dreaming of a rare victory on Indian soil. Warne had dismissed Sachin for the third time in a Test match held in Adelaide in December 1999. Batting first in this match, Australia scored 441 runs with the help of Steve Waugh and Ricky Ponting. In all, Warne and Tendulkar had met six times in the IPL. He was the captain of the Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians franchises. In their first match in 2008, they met in a match in Jaipur, in which MI batted first and scored 145/7. However, RR managed to chase down the target. In this match, Warne took 1/30 wicket of Uthappa, while Tendulkar (30 runs) was dismissed by Trivedi.
IPL 2009
Their second meeting in IPL was in 2009 at Kingsmead, Durban. Batting first, RR scored 145/7. Whereas, Mumbai’s team got out for 143 runs in 19.5 overs. Warne took 3 wickets for 24 runs. In which the wicket of Sachin Tendulkar was also included. He lbw Sachin for 40 runs.
IPL 2010
In the 2010 IPL, MI batted against RR at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and scored 212 runs for the loss of six wickets. In reply, RR scored 208 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Due to which MI won this match by four runs. Whereas, Warne did not get a single wicket in his four-over spell. Tendulkar scored 17 runs in 11 balls and was dismissed lbw. In RR’s home game at Jaipur that season, MI batted first and scored 174/5. RR replied with 137/8. Sachin was the man of the match after scoring an unbeaten 89 off 59 balls.
IPL 2011
In 2011 MI decided to bat first in the first league game between the two sides and were able to score only 94/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Tendulkar was stumped for seven by Yagnik off Menaria’s delivery. Whereas, Warne managed to take one wicket for 13 runs.
At the same time, in the second league match held at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Indians, batting first, scored a score of 133/5. However, RR won the match by 10 wickets. Tendulkar had scored 31 off 35 balls before he was caught by Watson off Singh, while Warne took 30 for 30 in his four overs.
