New Delhi, Former West Indies cricketer Marlon Samuels is celebrating his 41st (Happy Birthday Marlon Samuels) birthday today. Marlon was born on 5 February 1981. Marlon played for the West Indies cricket team at the international level. However, on 4 November 2020, he announced his retirement from international cricket. He had already informed West Indies Cricket about his retirement in June 2020. He was last seen playing in the field against Bangladesh in December 2018.
Marlon Samuels is a right-handed middle-order batsman as well as a spin bowler. Marlon was included in the West Indies team that won the 2012 and 2016 World Cups. The special thing is that Marlon Samuels was named man of the match in the finals of both the tournaments. He became the first person to achieve this feat.
Samuels made his Test debut in Australia in 2000, and played his One Day International against Sri Lanka in Nairobi during the ICC Knockout Trophy in the same year. Samuels’s younger brother Robert Samuels is also a former West Indies cricketer.
