Through the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation, the Magic distributed grants totaling $1 million to 24 organizations throughout a ceremony Tuesday forward of the staff’s residence sport vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Osceola County Council on Aging and IntroductionHealth Foundation Central Florida acquired the biggest grants at $100,000 and $55,000, respectively.
The 10 organizations that acquired the $50,000 grants have been: Children’s Home Society of Florida, Education Foundation Osceola County, Foundation for Foster Children, Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, Hope Partnership, Howard Phillips Center for Children & Families, Junior Achievement of Central Florida, Page 15, University Central Florida Foundation and YMCA of Central Florida.
The Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools and Foundation for Seminole State College of Florida each acquired $40,000 grants.
The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra was granted $35,000 whereas Harbor House of Central Florida and Lighthouse Central Florida acquired $30,000 apiece.
The six organizations that acquired $25,000 have been: Hebni Nutrition Consultants, The Mental Health Association of Central Florida, Orlando Ballet, Orlando Science Center, Orlando Shakes and United Against Poverty Orlando.
Steinway Society of Central Florida acquired $20,000.
These organizations additionally have been honored throughout the Magic’s sport towards the Cavaliers.
“On behalf of the entire DeVos family, we are so honored to be able to give back to this great Orlando community each year on this very important day,” Magic chairman Dan DeVos mentioned in an announcement. “The basis of our household has all the time been one surrounded in neighborhood work.
“It’s something my parents have always done. They always taught us that everybody has something to give — time, talent, treasure, whatever it may be. That’s just part of what we do, and it’s our responsibility to help. I truly am honored to be able to share in the excitement today of all of these very deserving organizations.”
Tuesday marked the fifteenth time that at the very least $1 million has been distributed by the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation since its inception.
More than $27 million has been distributed to native nonprofit neighborhood organizations by the muse over the past 32 years.
“All these folks are doing some incredible work,” Magic CEO Alex Martins mentioned. “To be able to help them out a little bit with their mission through these funds and hopefully help them make a greater impact on our community, it’s incredibly gratifying.”
The DeVos Family Foundation is also donating $3 million to 30 space nonprofit organizations as a part of the DeVos household’s 30 Grants for 30 Years initiative.
