In the upcoming season of IPL 2022, not 8, but 10 teams will try their luck in Mahasamar. Hardik Pandya, captain of Gujarat Titans GT, one of the two new teams, was given a big challenge by BCCI and NCA. He had asked the dashing all-rounder Hardik Pandya to bowl 10 overs to clear the test of fitness. Hardik Pandya has also cleared the Yo-Yo test.
A senior BCCI official said, “NCA physio and NCA chief VVS Laxman will decide the fitness test schedule. But as the selectors made it clear, they had to bowl at least 10 overs and clear the required yo-yo test as per the prescribed standards. It was not specially designed for Hardik. All the players have to clear this fitness test. For players with central contracts, this is already mandatory before the IPL.
