Poland’s nationwide soccer group: A pair of F-16 fighter jets accompanied the Polish nationwide soccer group’s aircraft for a part of its flight to the World Cup in Qatar, offering the group with further safety.
Prior to their opening World Cup match in opposition to Mexico subsequent week, the Poland group left for Qatar on Thursday beneath the captaincy of prolific striker Robert Lewandowski.

In a video posted on the group’s social media pages, the crew might be seen waving to the soccer stars whereas their plane was being escorted by fighter fighters.
“We were escorted to the southern border of Poland by F16 planes!” learn the tweet accompanying the footage. “Thank you and greetings to the pilots!”
Two people have been killed this week in a missile strike on Polish soil, not removed from the Ukrainian border, prompting the particular escort.
Poland certified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after defeating Sweden within the remaining of the European qualification playoffs again in March.
Due to the struggle in Ukraine, Poland initially declined to play Russia in a playoff semifinal that was scheduled to happen in Moscow. Then, Russian groups have been barred from collaborating in any official competitions by FIFA and UEFA, ending their possibilities of travelling to Qatar.
