INDIANAPOLIS — Patriots director of scouting Eliot Wolf is engaged on greater than rebuilding the group’s roster.
Together with new head coach Jerod Mayo, he’s planning to overtake the tradition.
Asked if the Patriots’ tradition has already begun to vary Tuesday on the NFL Scouting Combine, Wolf indicated the group is within the means of transferring away from Bill Belichick’s hardline program.
“I would like to say yes, and I think the answer is ultimately going to be yes,” Wolf advised reporters. “It’s easy to say the culture has changed, but there are no players here right now. But certainly there’s more of an open, less hard-ass type (of) vibe in the building that we can move forward with.”
Wolf’s feedback adopted weeks of Mayo emphasizing relationships and improvement because the bedrock of his teaching philosophy. Last week, Mayo defined the hiring of his three new coordinators by sharing how every of them join with gamers on a private degree. Mayo has beforehand mentioned he coaches out of affection, a stark distinction towards Belichick’s fashion.
Wolf and Mayo are among the many Patriots’ high decision-makers on the mix, the place the group is working by preparations for the draft and free company.
