The Miami Dolphins are hiring Joe Kasper, the Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive high quality management coach, as their new safeties coach, the South Florida Sun Sentinel has confirmed.
Kasper replaces Steve Gregory, who was fired in January after two seasons in Miami.
The NFL Network was first to report the hiring.
Kasper spent the previous two seasons with the Eagles after spending the earlier three seasons at Duke University the place he served as a graduate assistant working with quarterbacks in 2020, and defensive backs from 2018-19.
In 2017, Kasper coached extensive receivers at John Carroll (Ohio) University, the place former Dolphins coach Don Shula attended school, and from 2015-16 he coached extensive receivers at Mentor (Ohio) High School.
In 2013-14, Kasper was participant personnel and growth assistant with the Cleveland Browns.
The Dolphins return beginning safeties Jevon Holland and Brandon Jones in addition to reserve Verone McKinley III as their high gamers on the place. Eric Rowe and Clayton Fejedelem are unrestricted free brokers and Elijah Campbell is a restricted free agent.
The Dolphins launched defensive coordinator Vic Fangio on Monday, and Fangio confirmed they’ve employed Renaldo Hill, the previous Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator and Dolphins defensive again, as secondary/passing-game coordinator.
