Cummins said that his leadership style closely resembles that of England’s limited overs captain Eoin Morgan.
Melbourne, Australia’s Test captain Pat Cummins has asked his players to focus on their own work instead of splashing out. Australia’s cricket culture has changed after the 2018 episode of ball tampering. Not a single untoward incident happened in the ongoing Ashes series against England for which Cummins credited not only his leadership skills but also his fellow players.
While the England players lauded the efforts of Usman Khawaja, who scored centuries in both the innings of the Sydney Test, the Australian players also praised the good performance of the cricketers of the opposition team. Cummins said that his leadership style closely resembles that of England’s limited overs captain Eoin Morgan.
According to the ‘Sydney Morning Herald’, Cummins said, “I look for different types of leaders and I like a leader like Eoin Morgan. I love his approach on captaincy and how he unites the team. I have worked with Eoin in the IPL for the last few years and we have the same outlook on life.”

He said, “I keep encouraging all my players to make their own identity. They don’t have to try to impress or sneak up on anyone as it has happened in the past.” Cummins said he was proud of his team’s behavior.
“There is no doubt that the first Test match was played very smoothly and it (slapstick) is something to watch out for. You go ahead with your actions in this area.” “He knows what Australian cricket fans want from him,” Cummins said. I will not take all the credit, my teammates have played a very good role.” (agency)
