Cricket South Africa (CSA) has sent an official proposal to BCCI to host IPL 2022 in South Africa. Although BCCI wants to conduct the upcoming season of IPL 2022 in India itself, but BCCI is also at the stage of finalizing the alternate venue for this fresh season’s tournament in view of any untoward circumstances. This is the reason why CSA (Cricket South Africa) has sent a proposal to BCCI stating the advantages of hosting IPL in their country (IPL 2022 in SA).
What is the proposal of ‘Cricket South Africa’
According to a sports news agency, Cricket South Africa (CSA) has told the BCCI in its proposal that organizing IPL 2022 in South Africa will be an economical option for the BCCI. CSA has said that this will lead to ‘minimal air travel and hotels will also be available cheaply. And other facilities will also be much cheaper.
CSA has said in its proposal that 4 cricket centers in and around Johannesburg will be ready to host IPL 2022. The most matches of the league can be held at the Wanderers Cricket Stadium in Johannesburg, Centurion Park, Willomoor Park in Benoni and Senwes Cricket Stadium in Potchefstroom, IPL matches.

Significantly, in its virtual meeting with the officials and owners of IPL franchise teams on Saturday, one thing is clear that BCCI is in favor of organizing IPL 2022 in India itself. Yes, in view of any unforeseen circumstances, BCCI has considered South Africa as the first choice for organizing IPL 2022.
The BCCI, in a meeting held on Saturday, January 22 with the owners of all the teams involved in the IPL, had informed that it would decide on the venue of IPL 2022 by February 20. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced that IPL 2022 will start in the last week of March. The tentative date for IPL 2022 is March 27. And, this season will be played in India itself, which will run till May. All the matches of the upcoming tournament have been said to be played in Mumbai and Pune grounds without spectators.
